Welcome Jacob Vermillion, Senior Engineer

Welcome Jacob Vermillion, Senior Engineer

We are pleased to announce the addition of structural engineer Jacob “Jake” Vermillion, PE, as Senior Engineer in the Building Performance, Forensics, and Testing Group. Jake has been a structural engineering consultant for 15 years, covering various construction materials, project types, and clients. He has a concrete materials and petrography background due to his undergraduate and graduate studies at Michigan Tech with Larry Sutter and Tom Van Dam. He has experience designing with concrete, steel, masonry, wood framing, cold-formed steel, steel joists, composite concrete, precast concrete, and post-tensioned concrete. Jake is currently a PE in Minnesota and Illinois.

Jake will use his structural experience to support building technology, concrete, and construction groups. His role will be to provide structural design and support for multiple groups within AET and help grow our ability to take on more structural-related work. He will also work with full-scale load testing, structural forensics, and sensoring/instrumentation.

Jake will help grow the Building Technology Department by mentoring current or future staff on structural design/analysis, being available to provide structural input for other staff, and growing the structural capabilities of the team. He will also work on finding additional ways to utilize our facilities for more load-testing applications.

Jake and his wife will welcome their first child in April, and they look forward to the fun challenges that will bring. They have two Boston Terriers who have a ton of personality and have been great training for the soon-to-be parents. Jake enjoys deer and turkey hunting, spending time with family at the cabin in Wisconsin, and playing and watching various sports. Jake welcomes all NFC North rivalry discussions and makes sure to display Green Bay Packer pride in his office.

We are excited to have Jake on board! You can reach him at jvermillion@teamaet.com.
